Maintenance Methods and Skills Sharing of Dalian Die Casting Molds
Dalian die casting molds play an important role in industrial production. To ensure their stable performance and extended service life, correct maintenance is crucial. The following are some methods and skills for maintaining and caring for Dalian die casting molds.
I. Daily cleaning
After each use, residual die-cast alloys, release agents, dust and other debris on the mold surface should be removed in time. A soft brush or compressed air can be used for preliminary cleaning, and then a clean damp cloth can be used to wipe. For some stubborn stains, an appropriate amount of special mold cleaning agent can be used, but pay attention to the corrosiveness of the cleaning agent to avoid damage to the mold surface.
Regularly clean and lubricate the movable parts of the mold, such as sliders, push rods, ejector pins, etc. Remove dirt and dust from these parts, and then apply an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to ensure smooth movement and reduce the risk of wear and jamming.
II. Cooling system maintenance
Check whether the cooling water channels of the mold are unobstructed and whether there is clogging. Water flow tests or special water channel cleaning tools can be used for cleaning to remove scale, rust and other impurities in the water channels to ensure the normal circulation of the cooling liquid, thereby effectively controlling the mold temperature and preventing the mold from deforming or being damaged due to overheating.
Regularly check whether the cooling water pipe joints are loose or leaking. If there is a problem, tighten or replace the seals in time. At the same time, pay attention to the quality and concentration of the cooling liquid and replace the cooling liquid regularly to ensure its cooling effect and anti-rust performance.
III. Lubrication treatment
In addition to lubricating the movable parts, a thin layer of release agent or anti-rust oil can be appropriately applied on the surface of the cavity and core of the mold to prevent the adhesion of molten metal and oxidation and rust. But pay attention to the uniformity and appropriate amount of the lubricant to avoid excessive lubricant affecting the quality of die-cast products.
For some molds with guiding devices such as guide pillars and guide bushes, regularly check their lubrication status and add an appropriate amount of grease to ensure that the mold moves smoothly during the mold opening and closing process and the guiding accuracy is not affected.

IV. Regular inspection
Regularly conduct a comprehensive inspection of the mold, including the dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, and wear of the cavity and core of the mold. Measuring tools and roughness meters can be used for measurement. If dimensional deviation or excessive surface wear is found, repair or replace the corresponding parts in time.
Check the structural integrity of the mold, such as whether the template is deformed, whether the fastening bolts are loose, and whether there are gaps at the splicing parts of the mold. Problems found should be repaired and reinforced in time to ensure the overall strength and stability of the mold.
V. Storage management
When the mold is not in use temporarily, it should be properly stored. After cleaning the mold surface and applying anti-rust oil, place it in a dry and well-ventilated place to avoid the mold from getting damp and rusty. At the same time, pay attention to avoiding the mold from being squeezed or collided by heavy objects to prevent the mold from deforming and being damaged.
For molds stored for a long time, regular inspections and maintenance should be carried out. For example, turn the mold over at regular intervals to prevent deformation due to long-term placement; before using it again, conduct a comprehensive inspection and debugging of the mold to ensure its normal performance.
